use a policy

you can use a desktop policy for the 8.5 users. Set the policy to if user is "this client" use "this template". For 6x users this won't work cuz I don;t think policies were around then (don't recall). If you must use LotusScript there is a db out there (used to be in the Sandbox) with some extended classes you can use to read/write this value. I think it's called DbProperty. Google it.
